(Entry-level to Senior level) **Expected Areas of Responsibility:** Tokyo base, Nagoya base, Osaka base *Changes may occur depending on hiring status* *We are looking for candidates who can reside in the same prefecture as the assigned area. ### Abiomed Inc. focuses on the Impella, a catheter-based ventricular assist device (pVAD: percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device) aimed at saving patients and restoring their heart function. In Japan, we established our subsidiary in 2013 and received regulatory approval for the Impella catheter in September 2016, and since October 2017, it has been used clinically in over 240 medical institutions nationwide, with more than 10,000 cases recorded (as of March 2024). During this time, we have introduced new technologies such as Impella CP, Impella CP SmartAssist, Impella 5.5 SmartAssist, and Impella 5.5 SmartAssist 2nd Generation, and have improved usability for customers and enhanced patient outcomes through the introduction of remote monitoring services called Impella Connect. ### Currently, in Japan, it is indicated for drug-resistant acute heart failure, but in the US and Europe, we aim to expand indications for high-risk surgical patients with severe coronary artery disease and to obtain indications for treatments that reduce myocardial damage caused by acute myocardial infarction (large-scale multicenter prospective randomized trials are ongoing in the US and Europe). We also plan to introduce smaller, less invasive pump catheters (Impella ECP) and longer-term use pump catheters (Impella BTR), as well as right heart assist pump catheters (Impella RP Flex). ### As a relatively new product and treatment concept, there are cases where Impella is not used despite its indications, and further promotion and sales activities for Impella treatment are necessary. Additionally, organizational expansion is required at Abiomed in preparation for the introduction of new products and the acquisition of new indications.
