Nike is looking for a Manager, Corporate Accounting to join the Japan Corporate Accounting team. This leader brings strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and a commitment to accurate, timely financial reporting. The role is responsible for maintaining a strong control environment, driving process improvements, and enabling financial transparency across a dynamic and evolving business. You will lead an accurate and timely month-end close while continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of corporate accounting and financial reporting processes. You will strengthen financial controls, drive process excellence, and partner with managed service providers supporting corporate accounting operations across Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA).
- Minimum of 5–6 years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or a multinational company, with experience in Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A), intercompany, treasury, and tax accounting under United States and Japan Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP and Japan GAAP) preferred - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, strongly preferred with Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional qualification - Ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions while identifying and addressing financial risks and controls across end-to-end processes - Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead priorities, and deliver high-quality results across multiple workstreams - Process-oriented, forward-thinking mindset with a record of driving meaningful transformation and continuous improvement - Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with local and global stakeholders
