As our Senior Alternative Specialist, Private Real Assets, APAC, you will: The primary role of a Senior Alternative Specialist based in Tokyo is to work closely with generalist sales professionals to drive business by raising capital from institutional investors and expanding the number of distributors approaching not only institutional but also high-net-worth and retail investors. This professional will focus on private real asset strategies/products, both equity and debt for real estate and infrastructure. Interacting with relevant investment and product professionals, initiating sales activities toward Japanese investors, and coordinating with global sales professionals will be required. Coverage and distribution of alternative products/strategies, including real estate, infrastructure, and private debt, to investors and distributors. The key client coverage market will be Japan but will be expected to communicate with internal professionals globally on a periodical basis to support driving business. Close cooperation with CCD generalist teams in the region, e.g., via joint customer visits and contacts, as well as product training courses. Support organizing/coordinating sales activities, such as roadshows, portfolio manager meetings, conferences, and marketing documents. Interface with various stakeholder groups within DWS, such as business heads within alternatives, transactions and portfolio management, institutional and retail generalist sales, product development, product management, marketing, consultant relations, compliance. Communicate cross border and build productive working relationships. Maintain close cooperation with CCD teams in the region, e.g., via joint client visits and contacts, as well as product training courses. Support organizing/coordinating sales activities, such as roadshows, portfolio manager meetings, market research sessions, and marketing documents. Support the team in creating/updating marketing materials and other relevant information, a product strategy in the responsible segments and implementation. Independent processing and support in the analysis of customer potentials as well as the support of product initiatives together with the respective portfolio management teams. Provide presentations to management and internal and external clients. Integration into administrative sales and reporting processes (reporting, CRM processes, etc.). Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity; being an ambassador of our firm’s values.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance related fields, with a proven academic performance - Minimum 10 years of experience in sales or investment capacity with exposure to illiquid alternative products/strategies. Prior experience in private real assets would be a strong plus. - Professional Japanese and English skills in reading, writing, and speaking. - Ability to quickly learn and articulate alternative products/strategies. - Prior experience in fund raising activities preparing, updating, and presenting marketing materials to potential investors. - Built relationship with and worked with institutional client community such as pension funds, insurers, endowments, sovereign wealth funds, and asset managers. - Sales-oriented, highly self-motivated, and good time management skills - Strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders, with good communication and client-oriented mindset. - Strong organizational skills, and attention to details in handling multiple projects - Strong networking, initiative thinking and strategic planning experience. - Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
