The specific job responsibilities include maintenance and installation of electron microscopes. Thermo Fisher Scientific boasts a world-class market share, and our Japanese subsidiary supports cutting-edge science in fields such as materials science and electronic device research and development in Japan. The responsibilities include regular maintenance and troubleshooting to maximize the performance of electron microscopes, X-ray photoelectron spectrometers, and electrical failure analysis equipment, as well as the replacement of consumables and diagnostics, and addressing software and hardware issues. Additionally, the installation of electron microscopes, X-ray photoelectron spectrometers, and electrical failure analysis equipment involves planning and installation, product specification discussions during the introduction of new equipment, and support for layout considerations at customer sites alongside sales representatives. Key attractions of this position include no night shifts or sudden calls, with more than 122 annual holidays and weekends and public holidays off. Customer inquiries are centralized at a reception center, so there will be no direct contact during holidays or late at night. Furthermore, cases are distributed considering each engineer's schedule, preventing any one person from being overwhelmed. Our support system is also robust, with over 900 units currently operating in Japan. While small cases are generally handled by one person, larger projects are managed by teams of 2 to 3 members. You can always consult with your supervisor or senior colleagues if anything arises on-site. We also offer a comprehensive training program, where you will accompany a senior colleague for 3 months to 1 year to learn the basics. Logical thinking training to deduce the causes of malfunctions will be conducted to build a foundation as a service engineer. After that, you will participate in in-house study sessions and e-learning, aiming to become a professional over the course of three years. Regarding career paths, you will start by enhancing your technical expertise through practical work, overseas training, and participation in domestic and international projects. You can seek a wide range of career paths, such as aiming for management, challenging positions overseas, or engaging in service contract business. The team composition includes individuals from various backgrounds such as analytical instrument manufacturers, semiconductor equipment manufacturers, mechanical design, and circuit design. Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering or mechanical engineering will enable you to thrive in this role.
