Four SeasonsFour Seasons Hotel Kyoto is looking for a Sommelier who shares a passion for excellence and delivers exceptional guest experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for curating and managing our wine program, providing expert wine recommendations and service, and creating memorable dining experiences that enhance our guests’ enjoyment of our restaurants and beverage offerings. Responsibilities include curating and managing the restaurant's wine list, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection that complements the menu; assisting customers in choosing wines that pair well with their food choices, considering their preferences and budget; providing professional and courteous wine service, including opening and pouring wines, presenting bottles, and maintaining proper storage conditions; educating staff and customers about different wine varietals, regions, and vintages; monitoring and managing wine inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation; collaborating with the kitchen and management team to coordinate wine pairings with menu offerings and create special wine events or promotions; and building relationships with customers through personalized recommendations and memorable dining experiences.
- Previous experience as a Sommelier or in a senior beverage or wine-focused role within a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or upscale hospitality environment. - Strong knowledge of wine regions, varietals, vintages, and food and wine pairing principles. - Excellent communication and guest engagement skills with a passion for hospitality. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
