Job Function: Supply Chain Manufacturing Job Sub Function: Manufacturing Product & Packaging Operations Job Category: People Leader All Job Posting Locations: Ota, Tokyo, Japan Job Description: The position aims to ensure the stable operation of the facilities at the Haneda Distribution Center and the Asaka Operation Center by verifying (including inspections), evaluating, and making improvements in collaboration with stakeholders. It is essential to understand the requirements related to the manufacturing and sales of medical devices and to maintain and manage processes to strictly adhere to them. A safe working environment will be realized based on EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety, Sustainability) standards. Responsibilities include setting group policies and goals based on objectives to achieve departmental goals. Support and propose equipment and mechanism design, including electrical and mechanical systems, and peripheral designs. Provide design support and guidance for electrical and mechanical safety mechanisms, verify and validate proposed specifications. Build and respond to maintenance strategies for equipment and related systems, lead maintenance meetings (transitioning to lead 3PL), support material handling equipment management to ensure smooth operations from receiving to shipping, assist in maintenance improvements (electrical, mechanical), support the creation of maintenance plans, assist in managing spare parts and share EOL information, and consider replacements. Provide operational support by developing and training 3PL maintenance members, supporting material design and evaluation methods (including usability, efficiency, and strength measurement), verifying equipment, processes, and systems (work analysis, efficiency verification), and participating in and executing requested projects. Manage vendors and equipment purchasing by maintaining partnerships to provide high-quality and low-cost services, creating specifications, reviewing and verifying estimates, and negotiating. Establish, create, and implement verification methods for equipment (including electrical and mechanical systems), propose verification method plans, coordinate specifications with vendors, and adjust and create QA standards (including evaluation and reliability ranges). Lead the HDC Safety and Health Committee, conduct safety training, implement and improve self-assessments, lead Good Saves (update type of near-miss activities) and 5S activities, respond to requests for site status surveys from global and APAC EHSS, escalate to department heads and stakeholders within 72 hours in case of injuries occurring in the warehouse, and provide guidance and support for disaster drills. Collaborate with WW Engineering by attending monthly review meetings, presenting if there are events or reports, consulting on verification method considerations, reviewing new equipment used globally, and being able to respond if there is experience in maintenance, preservation, and production technology, as well as communicating in English (via email and teleconferencing with overseas sites).
