The MK Core PMO team aims to design and improve the operational systems of Mercari’s Product organization, building a strong organizational foundation that enables multiple Product and Engineering organizations to consistently deliver results. Beyond addressing challenges within the Marketplace business, the team emphasizes collaborating with other organizations as needed to develop systems and best practices that can be used across the Mercari Group. You will identify organizational operations challenges within the Product organization and drive initiatives from planning solutions through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement. You will design and improve reporting processes and operational infrastructure to make product development progress and key decisions visible, and organize and optimize internal communication channels, including all-hands meetings, other key meetings, and documentation. You will also build onboarding processes and knowledge-sharing systems for members of the Product organization, evaluate the impact of initiatives both qualitatively and quantitatively, and share the resulting insights as reusable processes and best practices. You will use AI to improve the efficiency and sophistication of organizational operations and knowledge management. You will be expected to structure organizational challenges that have no clear-cut answers or established models by interviewing stakeholders and analyzing data, then translate them into practical systems. You will build consensus among diverse stakeholders, primarily across Product and Engineering, and drive cross-organizational change without relying on direct authority. While addressing the specific circumstances of MK Core, you will design scalable systems that can also be adopted by other organizations and across the Group, and take responsibility for embedding them in day-to-day work and continuously improving them based on usage and feedback. As AI brings about major organizational transformation, you will also be expected to plan solutions with an AI-native approach.
- Practical experience in Product Management, Product Operations, Program Management, or a related field - Experience contributing to improvements in organizational or operational processes within a Product organization - Ability to structure ambiguous and complex challenges and translate them into concrete initiatives and systems - Experience building consensus with stakeholders across multiple roles and organizations, such as Product and Engineering, and driving initiatives forward - Ability to organize information and key issues using documentation and communicate them clearly
