Mott MacDonald is a large, global engineering firm, with an opportunity to join our team in Japan. We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on exciting renewable energy projects, such as in offshore and onshore wind, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and solar projects. The services we provide to our clients are varied and includes design, owners engineering and technical advisory support. You will work on various renewable energy projects globally, focusing on Japan and Asia Pacific. Responsibilities include delivering our work, supporting the growth of the renewable energy business, and improving the technical performance of the regional team.
Degree in electrical engineering, preferably with a specialization in power systems, renewable energy, and/or sustainable energy technology, and/or Qualification of Professional Engineer. 6-10 years of relevant experience with a preference for experience in renewable energy projects, though experience in thermal and HVDC/HVAC transmission is also positive.
Proficiency with power system simulation tools (PSS®E, DigSilent PowerFactory) and/or microgrid and hybrid energy system simulation tools (Homer Pro, Homer Grid) is a benefit. Experience on BESS projects, or willingness to upskill in this area is a plus.
