Business Planning - Life & Booking Business Promotion Department (C&M)
RakutenBusiness Overview
The Rakuten Group offers more than 70 diverse services across a wide range of sectors, including e-commerce, fintech, mobile, and digital content. By organically linking these services around the core of “Rakuten Members,” the Group has formed a unique “Rakuten Ecosystem” that is unlike any other, and continues to generate innovations that enrich people’s lifestyles.
Department Overview
The Life & Booking Business Promotion Department is an organization that provides cross-functional support for key services-including Rakuten Travel, Rakuten GORA, the DREAM business, and Rakuten Beauty-reporting directly to executive management.
Rather than serving in an administrative capacity, the department functions as a strategic advisory team, addressing the management challenges of each business through “strategy formulation, management accounting, development support, and project management.” Its most distinctive feature is the ability to be involved in the entire process, from upstream strategic planning to on-the-ground execution.
Currently, we are driving a wide range of projects, including the store expansion strategy for Rakuten Mobile Shops, the development of out-of-home (OOH) advertising, the establishment of a development framework for the DREAM business, and budget vs. actual management for Regional Economy Vitalizing Business.
As a flat organization of approximately 15 members, we offer an environment where you can experience the speed and autonomy that come from seeing your proposals directly influence management decisions.

Why We Hire
The projects undertaken by our department-including the accelerated expansion of Rakuten Mobile Shops nationwide and the strengthening of the DREAM business-continue to grow in both scale and number.
During this phase of rapid growth, we are urgently seeking team members who can independently drive initiatives from strategy through execution.
We are looking for individuals who will go beyond “routine tasks” to build processes from the ground up-from defining challenges to conducting validation-and lead the Rakuten Group’s next phase of growth by transcending the boundaries of individual businesses and organizations.
Attractive Features
・ Unparalleled autonomy directly under senior management: Because we are a small team, each member has a high degree of autonomy and can experience the sense of immediacy that comes from seeing their own proposals directly contribute to business growth.
・ Full-cycle experience in “Strategy × Execution”: You’ll be deeply involved in all phases of business growth, from strategy formulation to management accounting and development support.
・ Career flexibility: This is an environment where you can chart a wide range of future career paths, including corporate planning, business development, and management.
