ispace is looking for a Thermal Engineer to join our growing mechanical design team. As ispace expands its business, we are seeking a Thermal Engineer who can lead thermal design and analysis for spacecraft. With multiple lunar landing missions progressing simultaneously, we are strengthening our technical team and would like to welcome a Mid-Senior level professional who can demonstrate expertise in thermal design for spacecraft development.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering - Over 3 years of experience in design for aerospace or aviation applications - Knowledge of thermal design and analysis for satellites or spacecraft - Proficiency in thermal desktop tools for thermal analysis - Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and communication skills - Ability to adapt to change quickly and a willingness to learn new things - A proactive attitude, being a team player, and having a strong sense of responsibility for one’s work - Business level proficiency in Japanese or English (capable of internal communication and vendor interactions)
- Experience using CAD software and creating drawings - Proficiency in Solidworks, FEmap, NASTRAN (or equivalent) software packages - Knowledge of mechanical design, material selection, and manufacturing processes for spaceflight hardware or equivalent - Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and stack-up calculation methods for tolerances (such as RSS) - Experience in new industrial development projects in the aerospace or aviation field - Over 1 year of experience leading a team - English skills (conversation, reading, and writing)
