Shiseido Company, Limited is advancing and modernizing its intellectual property infrastructure to support research and development (R&D) and corporate strategy. We are seeking a member of the IP Infrastructure Group in the Technology and Intellectual Property Department at the Mirai Development Research Laboratories to handle IP operations, including patents, expenses, and employee inventions, while driving business process transformation (BPR) using generative AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT, as well as digital transformation (DX) tools. Working alongside colleagues with diverse backgrounds, this role offers the opportunity to lead the entire process, from improving operations through AI adoption to sharing knowledge and embedding new practices. Responsibilities include learning, carrying out, and handing over existing IP operations, such as patent administration, expense management, and employee invention management; reviewing the group’s and department’s operations and identifying and planning improvement initiatives that leverage generative AI; driving business process improvements using generative AI tools such as Copilot; planning and conducting proof-of-concept (PoC) trials for AI applications, evaluating their effectiveness, and promoting their adoption in day-to-day operations; fostering a culture of generative AI use by supporting and training group members; and independently planning and driving business transformation based on a thorough understanding of frontline operations.
- At least two years of experience in IP operations, such as patent administration, expense management, or employee invention management - Experience in data analysis and business process visualization - Experience participating in DX initiatives or business improvement projects - Experience providing internal training on AI applications or sharing related knowledge - Strong initiative and ownership in promoting business standardization, efficiency, and problem-solving - Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate smoothly with stakeholders - Strong interest in and motivation to learn about emerging technologies, including generative AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT
