The mission of the IP Planning Group is to “transform intellectual property into corporate value and maximize the likelihood of success in key R&D decisions.” We are currently transitioning from an organization that “thinks about intellectual property” to an “execution-oriented strategy team” that provides decision-making insights actually used in company decisions. Our R&D fields are expanding beyond cosmetics into a wide range of areas, including diagnosis and regenerative medicine. To serve as a “strategic hub” across these diverse fields, we need people with strong strategic thinking skills. We are seeking a strategic leader as the IP Planning Group Manager to translate intellectual property into management and R&D decision-making. To contribute across R&D activities to brand growth and the creation of new businesses, you will be responsible for the following: developing IP policies and plans aligned with management and R&D strategies and leading their execution; setting specific KPIs, including quantitative metrics, in accordance with the technology IP strategy and leading efforts to achieve them; providing relevant departments with information on IP trends, including opportunities and threats, among competitors and in strategic categories; and managing technology assets and IP risks across functions, primarily through infringement-prevention searches and invalidity searches.
