J&J MedTech Heart Recovery (Japan Abiomed Corporation) is seeking a Senior Surgical Sales Specialist for the Eastern Japan region. Surgical Sales at J&J MedTech Heart Recovery (Japan Abiomed Corporation) works with Clinical Sales and Marketing to carry out strategic sales activities, including a range of day-to-day sales activities, professional education, and promotional activities related to the surgical applications of Impella. To achieve business goals, the Senior Surgical Sales Specialist independently plans and executes sales activities to establish Impella as the standard of care (SoC) in cardiac surgery. The specialist also develops strategies to increase case volumes and improve survival rates at key facilities in the assigned region, and implements them in agreement with the Surgical Sales Manager. The specialist provides information based on clinical evidence from Japan and abroad, and proposes new treatment strategies and care pathways by drawing on case experience and expertise. The ideal candidate for this role has business experience in cardiac surgery and cardiology, particularly sales experience and clinical knowledge in cardiac surgery. As Impella technology and its applications continue to expand rapidly, candidates are strongly expected to pursue ongoing independent learning, build knowledge of both the product and related treatments and procedures, and identify potential clinical needs and growth opportunities. The pillars of Abiomed’s business goals are to increase the number of cases in which Impella helps save lives and restore the heart’s own function, and to improve outcomes (survival rates) in cases where Impella is used. To achieve these goals and establish Impella as the standard of care (SoC), the specialist develops sales strategies and contributes to achieving the goals of the assigned territory, region, and Abiomed as a whole. The specialist continuously works to improve the accuracy and reliability of sales strategies and accelerate their execution by developing, implementing, monitoring progress on, and validating strategies tailored to the circumstances of each facility. In consultation with Clinical Sales representatives at assigned facilities, Associate Surgical Sales Managers, and Surgical Sales Managers, the specialist develops and implements specific sales strategies and strategic sales plans to achieve Surgical Sales targets. The specialist also shares and provides guidance to Surgical Sales Specialists on clinical knowledge and experience, product knowledge and experience, and sales and communication skills.
