The DX&AIX Strategy Division formulates AI strategies for business transformation based on Shiseido Japan's business strategy and promotes company-wide AI Transformation (AIX). By creating an environment that maximizes the use of AI, we aim to maximize productivity and ensure Shiseido's sustainable growth and competitive advantage through innovation utilizing advanced AI technologies and a robust data foundation. The Data Steward is responsible for promoting the construction of an AI-Ready data foundation while collecting, managing, and organizing data as a strategic asset for the company, maximizing its value. In a traditional company representing Japan with a 150-year history, this role goes beyond merely building and operating a data foundation; it consistently undertakes the collection and utilization of data from business operations to realize a company-wide data-driven transformation. We provide a common business context for all data (structured and unstructured) across the company, updating it into a "high-quality data asset" that can be utilized without confusion by both humans and AI, while ensuring data reliability and governance in a cross-company manner.
- Experience in data governance / data management execution (3 years or more) - Experience in the implementation and operation of data catalog tools (such as Google Cloud Knowledge Catalog, Alation, Collibra) - Experience in building or operating a business glossary, metadata management, and master data management (MDM) - Experience in designing semantic layers / data models - Experience in building semantic layers using Looker (LookML) or dbt, or standardizing aggregation logic for company-wide common metrics - Basic knowledge of SQL and cloud data warehouses - Understanding of table structures in BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc., and data using advanced SQL - Facilitation / consensus-building skills with both business and technical departments - Experience in understanding business requirements from business units and translating them into data definitions and governance rules, achieving consensus with the field
- Experience in data management utilizing generative AI / LLM - Experience in designing and operating processes for automatic metadata assignment using LLM and structuring / assetizing unstructured data (voice, text) - Experience in operating data lineage / data observability - Experience in visualizing dependencies of data pipelines and implementing and operating automatic monitoring and anomaly detection of data quality (such as Monte Carlo) - Experience in data management in large-scale and complex business domains - Experience in organizing and managing complex data structures in retail, consumer goods, cosmetics industries, etc. - Knowledge of security, compliance, and regulations - Experience in designing data governance and access restriction operations considering the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act, the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations, and personal information protection laws (GDPR/PPA, etc.)
- _Opportunity to create the future of a historic company from the infrastructure:_ You can be involved in the dynamic phase where Shiseido, with its long history, is seriously transforming into a company that utilizes data and AI. - _Market value gained during a period of transformation:_ You can build a career with high market value as an "AI governance designer" who ensures the success and trust of AI strategies, rather than just being a data manager.
