The Product Systems Quality team is looking for a hands-on manager to lead system validation efforts for current and next-generation I/O interfaces across Apple’s product lineup. You’ll drive validation strategy from post-silicon bring-up through mass production, partnering closely with silicon, hardware, software, and test engineering teams. This role sits within the Hardware Engineering Product Integrity organization and owns end-to-end validation for high-speed I/O protocols (e.g., USB, PCIe, Thunderbolt). The successful candidate will run a team recognized not only for technical excellence, but also as trusted engineering partners who collaborate effectively across organizations, share technical expertise, and provide scalable engineering support to deliver industry-leading products. Responsibilities include leading and growing a team of I/O validation engineers; defining and driving validation strategy, test plans, and coverage goals, including directing the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of robotics-based test systems to improve efficiency; partnering with hardware, software, and system teams to debug issues and drive root-cause analysis; owning schedule, resourcing, and risk tracking for validation milestones; communicating validation status, risks, and escalations to cross-functional and senior leadership; and mentoring engineers and supporting career development within the team.
