Citi is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to support the strategic and operational leadership of its Global Hospitality Services function in Japan — one of the most significant and fast-growing markets in Citi's global network. In this role, you will help deliver a consistently high-quality workplace experience across a broad portfolio of hospitality services, from client center operations and reception concierge to event catering and colleague dining. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and country leadership team to coordinate vendor performance, maintain service standards, and contribute to a high-performing, operationally sound environment for colleagues and clients alike.
- 5 to 8 years of operations experience in a hospitality environment, ideally spanning executive services, food and beverage, or related corporate service disciplines across multi-site settings. - Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors, including performance oversight, issue resolution, and ongoing relationship management. - Experience working in client-facing service environments where quality, responsiveness, and professionalism are critical to outcomes. - Working knowledge of operational controls, governance processes, and the disciplines required to maintain service compliance in a regulated corporate environment. - University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field. - Advanced Japanese language proficiency is essential, as this role involves regular communication and negotiation with local vendors and third-party service providers in Japan. - Business-level English proficiency is required to engage effectively with global stakeholders and senior leadership across Citi's international network.
- Professional certification in Food Safety Management, such as HACCP, is highly desirable and demonstrates a commitment to service safety and operational rigor. - A qualification in managerial leadership or process improvement — such as PMP or Lean Six Sigma — adds meaningful value in coordinating complex, multi-workstream environments. - Prior experience operating within a large, matrixed global organization, particularly within financial services or a similarly fast-paced corporate setting, is an advantage.
- A hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, giving you flexibility while staying connected to the team. - Exposure to senior global leadership and the opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives that shape how hospitality services are delivered across Citi's international network. - Access to structured learning and professional development programs to support your career progression within operations and beyond. - Wellbeing support and work-life balance resources designed to help you perform at your best inside and outside of work.
