This position involves the architectural design of transportation to the Moon and lunar surface development, as well as the creation of new business ventures. You will be responsible for some or all aspects of the architectural design for various projects, including future transportation to the Moon and lunar orbit, development of lunar infrastructure (power and communication), and services utilizing lunar orbit satellites. This includes lobbying and launching missions involving private companies and academia, not limited to space enterprises. Based in the Tokyo headquarters, this role focuses on mission design aimed at realizing hardware specifications that should be achieved in the future, rather than conceptual business plans, with the ultimate goal of bringing these into actual services. You will report directly to the Director of New Business Development and drive activities to realize these missions. Additionally, you will share responsibilities for ensuring the sustainability of these businesses, including improvements in spacecraft production, insurance strategies, and rocket strategies. You will be assigned tasks from the following duties based on discussions with you: New business development in lunar and lunar orbit: - Market research and corporate analysis - Business planning - Hardware architecture considerations - Public relations and lobbying to the government - Proposal planning to companies/government, project management, and regular reporting - Consortium formation - Preparation of bid proposals and order proposals - Project management after receiving orders (including negotiations with stakeholders) - Technical considerations for projects after receiving orders (mainly requirements specification formulation, compliance checks, vendor requirements specification creation) Support for improving existing businesses and supporting new businesses: - Insurance strategies - Rocket strategies (including communication with launch service providers) - Improvements in spacecraft production systems (mainly from the perspective of government and corporate collaboration).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or higher - More than 5 years of practical experience in program management, design development (any field), or business planning in aerospace - Understanding of spacecraft and space environments - Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders (private companies, internal related departments, government and public agencies) - Practical experience in product/service proposal activities, order strategies, and contract acquisition - Ability to work closely with engineering and sales teams in a multidisciplinary environment - Native Japanese speaker with conversational English ability (no hesitation in communicating in English is preferred)
