We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the growth of laboratory equipment in the Japanese market. In this role, you will develop and execute a growth strategy for your assigned product portfolio, drawing on a deep understanding of Japanese customers and the market and collaborating with diverse teams, including global teams, Sales, and Service. This is a key position in which you will lead business growth in Japan by working across the entire product lifecycle, including market and competitive analysis, product strategy development, pricing strategy, and new product launches. A major feature of this role is the opportunity to develop product strategies not only by reviewing market data and figures, but also by engaging directly with customer feedback and research environments. You will apply your expertise in science and technology to support customers as needed through product demonstrations and technical training, and connect the insights you gain to sales activities, marketing strategies, and growth of the product portfolio. This role offers broad involvement in everything from strategy for the Japanese market to direct customer engagement, drawing on both your understanding of science and technology and your business skills. By working with a wide range of stakeholders in Japan and overseas and turning your ideas into business growth, you can expand your career opportunities across product management, marketing, applications, and other fields. The products you will be responsible for are CO2 incubators and biological safety cabinets. Responsibilities include developing sales strategies in collaboration with the APJ team; reporting on market conditions, sales progress, and action plans; managing sales and business progress for each product line; developing pricing strategies based on market prices, costs, and competitive conditions; preparing proposed prices and approving prices for bulk deals; developing go-to-market plans for new product launches; developing sales channel and distributor strategies; and analyzing market information from customers and distributors and providing feedback to APJ and the BU. You will also plan campaigns and promotional initiatives, sales tools, advertising copy, and web content; develop promotional plans for new and priority products; support distributors’ trade shows and promotional activities; and analyze the effectiveness of advertising and promotional initiatives. You will build agreement on sales strategies with key distributors, support product information, sales materials, and advertising activities, respond to inquiries from the Sales department about products, pricing, and market information, and collect and analyze sales results, customer forecasts, and market opportunities. In addition, you will collaborate with the APJ Commercial Manager, BU Product Manager, and Quality Manager to resolve issues; support the preparation of Japanese-language customer letters and explanatory materials when defects occur; and analyze quality issue trends and provide feedback to prevent recurrence and improve customer support. You will gain experience across the entire product business, including product management, marketing, sales channel support, pricing strategy, and quality issue response for your assigned products. By collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders, including domestic Sales, distributors, the APJ team, overseas BUs, and Product and Quality departments, you can strengthen your skills in business strategy, product planning, channel management, customer support, and global communication. During your first month, you will learn about the company, organization, and assigned product lines; product specifications, key applications, and competing products; basic workflows and internal systems; and quality issues, Warranty Reports, and internal escalation processes. You will meet relevant stakeholders and gain an understanding of sales, pricing, inventory, and market conditions for each product line. During months two and three, you will support the creation of product catalogs, specification sheets, and web content; learn how to handle quality issues and customer inquiries; attend regular meetings with APJ and overseas BUs; take responsibility for some sales and marketing initiatives for your assigned products; and support sales plans and promotional activities for distributors. During months four through six, you will analyze and share market, competitive, and pricing information; support planning for new product launches or campaigns; and manage the progress and report results of assigned projects. After six months, you will proactively drive sales strategies, pricing strategies, and marketing plans for your assigned products; build agreement with APJ, BUs, Sales, and distributors; and implement initiatives to improve sales, Price Realization, inventory, and Market Share.
