As a Pre-sales Solution Architect (Analytics, AI, Big Data, Public Cloud), you will lead the technical evaluation phase in a hands-on environment throughout the sales process. You will act as a technical advisor to the sales team and collaborate with the product team to realize customer requirements on-site. You will help customers achieve specific data-driven outcomes using the Databricks data intelligence platform and support data teams in completing projects and integrating our platform into their enterprise ecosystem. While finding solutions to the biggest challenges customers face regarding big data, analytics, data engineering, and data science, you will propose solutions to customers alongside the sales team. You will report to the Field Engineering Manager. The impact you bring: You will become an expert in big data analytics in terms of architecture and design. You will guide prospects towards the evaluation and adoption of Databricks. You will assist customers by creating reference architectures, high-level implementation and migration plans, and demo applications. You will integrate Databricks with third-party applications to support customer architectures. You will engage with the technical community by leading workshops, seminars, and meetups. Together with sales, you will build successful relationships with clients in your assigned segment, delivering technical and business value. You will discover customer use cases and optimize existing customers' Databricks environments, as well as engage in activities for improving Databricks products.
- Experience in pre-sales or post-sales involving external clients across various industries - Experience demonstrating technical concepts, including experience with presentations and whiteboarding - Experience in architecture design and implementation within public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) - Business experience with enterprise accounts - Fluent communication in Japanese and business-level reading and writing in English - Basic technical understanding in the data domain or machine learning/AI domain, along with SQL coding skills.
- Understanding of customer-facing pre-sales or consulting roles with core strengths in either data engineering or data science is desirable - Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark™, AI, data science, data engineering, Hadoop, and Cassandra - Fluent coding experience in Apache Spark using Python, Scala, Java, or R - Development experience in the data domain or machine learning/AI domain, particularly coding experience in Python (Pandas, NumPy, etc.)
