We are seeking motivated individuals to accelerate vehicle-level testing of current and future driver assistance features as we work to deliver advanced driver assistance technology. Vehicle operators are responsible for identifying improvements and regressions in performance or behavior across successive software revisions. The ideal candidate has sound, objective judgment, excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and initiative. This position may require flexibility to travel domestically and internationally to test vehicles on public roads, test tracks, and proving grounds. You must also be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule, which may include working at least one weekend day per week. Availability to work day, evening, or night shifts is required. You will drive engineering vehicles in designated areas to collect data, working approximately five to eight hours per day. You will start and stop recording devices as needed and perform basic checks and troubleshooting of equipment and software. You will analyze and report on the quality of data collected during each shift, provide feedback, and propose process improvements to optimize data collection. You will prepare detailed daily driving reports documenting observations and issues. Before each shift, you will check the vehicle’s safety and operational condition. You will survey assigned areas and design routes that include scenarios suitable for validating advanced driver assistance technology. You will learn and become proficient in the latest driver assistance software and related vehicle features. You will conduct on-road tests based on test specifications and provide ad hoc support for scenarios requested individually. You will also assist with other vehicle engineering tests as needed.
