RakutenEC Marketplace Development Department (ECMPD) is a tech division under Rakuten Commerce & Marketing Company of Rakuten Group, Inc. We are responsible for developing and enhancing our online system to support our core business, Rakuten Ichiba. Rakuten Ichiba is one of the largest internet shopping malls in Japan with 5.6 trillion sales in 2022 and our business is growing year on year. We aim to provide the best shopping entertainment for our shoppers and empower our partners in Rakuten Ichiba. We are currently seeking Senior Backend Engineers for the Rakuten Ichiba platform. The role involves the design, development, and operation of web system backends, as well as engineering team leadership and project management responsibilities. Understand business requirements, and deliver features with high quality and speed. Lead projects or teams as a senior engineer, from design, development, testing, and operation of new user-facing features for large-scale e-commerce systems, and make technical decisions under complex circumstances. Perform system design, implementation, testing, and release for various types of development projects. Handle operations, including inquiry management, investigation, and other operational tasks.
- 8+ years experiences in system development and operations - Technical lead experience (High traffic web system architecture design, technical decision making, etc.) - Experience of leading the design of the overall system with scalability and maintainability in mind, and strategically guiding the service’s future direction (user base expansion and integration of new features) - Experience of leading service monitoring and production environment troubleshooting/reporting - 5+ years experiences of Java/Spring Boot Web application development experience - 5+ years experiences of REST API design, development, familiar with JUnit Test and code review - Experience of Relational Database(Oracle or MySQL) - Experience of using Tomcat or WebLogic - Experience of Linux, Gradle, Git - Experience of CI/CD with Jenkins or other tools - Experience of container architecture such as Docker, Kubernetes in system development - Communication skill in English
- Experience of performance/stress/load test - Experience of using Redis, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Grafana, Kibana - 3+ years experiences of PHP application development using any framework - Experience building an environment using Kubernetes - Have Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) qualification
