We are seeking an Engineering Consultant to join Arup’s Energy Team, supporting the delivery of offshore wind projects in Japan and internationally. As part of a team of approximately 10 specialists, you will contribute to the design and advisory services for offshore wind developments, working alongside engineers and technical specialists across multiple disciplines. Reporting to the Japan Group Energy Team Leader, you will collaborate with both local and international colleagues in a multinational project environment. This role offers an opportunity to apply and further develop expertise in structural and/or geotechnical engineering while contributing to the growth of renewable energy projects that support a more sustainable future. Provide design and advisory services for offshore wind power facilities.
- At least 5 years of practical experience in structural design, supported by strong technical knowledge; PhD studies in Structural or Civil Engineering may be considered as relevant experience for candidates who have obtained a PhD. - At least 5 years of practical experience and strong technical knowledge in geotechnical engineering; PhD studies in Geotechnical Engineering may be considered as relevant experience for candidates who have obtained a PhD. - Practical experience working in English on projects involving remote collaboration and multinational team members. - Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in offshore structures is preferred. - Strong academic foundation and ability to explore problems from first principles. - Motivation to create, learn and continuously develop expertise. - Ability to identify priorities, take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances. - Broad perspective beyond one’s immediate area of expertise. - Respect for others and a collaborative approach to solving problems. - Interest in multinational collaboration and international projects. - Ability to consider challenges from multiple perspectives, including those of clients and end users.
