As a Senior Solution Consultant in Japan, you will lead complex business negotiations and develop strategies alongside the sales team. You will handle the entire product range, from AI translation and Language AI for business workflows to APIs and real-time multilingual communication with DeepL Voice. The primary focus will be on Japanese enterprise customers. This role is not centered around creating documents; instead, you will engage directly with the product, building demos, prototypes, and PoV environments, making it a hands-on position. You will work closely with sales representatives throughout the entire negotiation process and collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure the proposed solutions are effectively implemented. The Japanese team is still small, which means each individual's impact is significant. While there are existing foundations built by the team, there are still areas that need attention. We are looking for someone who can improve what exists, create what does not, and who wants to shape the very approach to solution consulting rather than just operate within given frameworks.
- Japanese: native level. English: business level (native-level English proficiency is not required). Other languages are a plus. - Over 5 years of customer-facing experience as a solution consultant, sales engineer, or in pre-sales. Experience in enterprise SaaS, AI, CCaaS, language technology, or related fields is preferred. - Proven track record of actively leading discovery, demos, and solution design in complex negotiations, directly contributing to the success of securing contracts. - Experience in building or setting up demos, prototypes, POCs, and PoV environments hands-on for customers. - Ability to manage multiple negotiations simultaneously without requiring detailed oversight. - Technical foundation. Ability to discuss REST APIs, authentication and SSO (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, Azure AD), and common SaaS integration patterns at a level suitable for customer discussions. Daily coding is not required. - Solid understanding of security and compliance. Ability to converse with information systems and legal departments. - Experience in driving RFI and RFP processes. - Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to adapt to both business and technical audiences. - Interest in industry trends and competitive information. A habit of reflecting on what worked well and what did not after projects.
