You will join a team responsible for driving the business development and commercialization of new EV and energy services that connect electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, and energy management. Working closely with the business lead and product lead, you will play a central role in providing technical support for business development and sales activities. You will translate customers’ business challenges and technical requirements—including EV chargers, V2X (V2H/V2B/V2G), photovoltaic (PV) systems, and energy management system (EMS) integration—into optimal solution proposals. You will collaborate closely with Business Development, Sales, installation contractors, EPC partners, equipment manufacturers, and electric utilities to assess technical feasibility, support customer proposals, and facilitate smooth project implementation. You will also contribute to defining requirements for and developing digital tools that enable partners—including installation contractors, EPCs, and sales agents—to efficiently conduct site surveys, design electrical systems, and prepare customer proposals. Working alongside software engineers and product managers, you will translate field knowledge—including installation and proposal workflows, electrical system design rules, regulatory requirements, and grid-interconnection requirements—into scalable solutions. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to both customer-facing technical sales and product development, while leveraging Toyota’s mobility assets and Woven City’s Living Laboratory™ environment to scale EV and energy businesses. We are looking for a Solution Engineer or Technical Sales professional with expertise in electrical infrastructure and energy systems who can lead the technical aspects of customer proposals while bringing a product-oriented mindset to scaling our partners’ installation and sales activities. The ideal candidate will be able to translate complex customer requirements involving EV charging, V2X, PV, and EMS into technically feasible solutions. You should understand the practical considerations involved in site surveys, electrical capacity sizing, single-line diagrams, coordination with electric utilities, and compliance with fire safety and electrical regulations. You will also be expected to coordinate technical matters effectively with customers, installation contractors, and sales partners. We also welcome candidates who can structure and analyze the challenges faced by installation contractors, EPCs, sales agents, and other partners in areas such as site surveys, installation design, cost estimation, and customer proposals—and translate those challenges into business and functional requirements for commercially available tools that improve operational efficiency. We are seeking someone who is motivated to collaborate with software engineers and transform field expertise into scalable products. You will collaborate with Business Development and Sales teams, as well as partners such as auto-leasing companies and automotive dealers, to develop sales strategies and go-to-market initiatives for solutions integrating EV chargers, V2X technologies (V2H/V2B/V2G), photovoltaic (PV) systems, and energy management systems (EMS). You will lead customer proposals, technical presentations, and sales engagement support. You will assess power-receiving equipment, site conditions, electrical capacity, installation constraints, applicable regulations, and grid-interconnection requirements through customer interviews, reviews of information and drawings provided by customers, and site visits when necessary. You will conduct implementation feasibility assessments, lead technical evaluations, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders. You will provide partners with technical proposals, product demonstrations, onboarding, training, and technical escalation support for the company’s tools and solutions. You will define business requirements, functional requirements, decision logic, and standardized workflows for commercially available digital tools and solutions, enabling partners to perform these activities efficiently and consistently. You will collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and designers to drive the development of partner-facing tools, validate technical logic, conduct user testing, improve products, and package them as commercially available solutions. You will identify and organize customer and partner needs, technical constraints, and operational challenges uncovered through sales engagements and implementation support, and provide feedback to product and engineering teams to improve existing features and develop new services.
