The APAC Occupational Health Lead is responsible for leading occupational health strategy, programs, and services for DePuy Synthes in Japan, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore, while providing regional oversight. This role ensures employee health, safety, and well‑being through compliant, high‑quality occupational health practices aligned with global standards and local regulatory requirements. The position plays a critical role in supporting workforce safety, risk management, and business continuity in a regulated manufacturing and corporate environment, while serving as a trusted advisor to site and regional leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Occupational Health, Public Health, or a related field is required. - Typically 6-8 years of experience in occupational health, employee health, or related roles. - Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating occupational health programs at site or country level. - Strong knowledge of occupational health regulations and best practices in Japan and APAC. - Ability to partner effectively with HR, EHS, FM (E&PS), and business leaders in a matrixed organization. - Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem‑solving skills. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional qualification or additional training in Occupational Health, Public Health, or a related discipline (preferred) - Experience supporting occupational health in manufacturing or regulated environments. - Familiarity with global or regional occupational health operating models. - Experience managing external occupational health vendors. - Exposure to healthcare, medical device, or life sciences industries. - Experience supporting change initiatives or program harmonization.
- Languages: Japanese and English proficiency are required. - Travel: Up to 10–20% domestic or regional travel. - Certifications: Occupational Health Nurse or equivalent certification is preferred.
