Our Customer Success Strategy team belongs to Strategy & Programs, Salesforce’s strategy organization, and is responsible for helping the Customer Success Group (CSG), which supports customers after they sign a contract (Post Sales), achieve its goals. Working with global and cross-functional strategy teams, we translate the company’s Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy into CSG initiatives and support CSG leaders’ decision-making with data and strategic thinking to maintain and expand customer relationships. The CSG Data & Insights Analyst is not assigned to a specific department within CSG, but instead provides support across the entire organization. By leading collaboration with Business Partners on the team—who serve as strategic advisors to leaders across CSG—as well as with diverse functions such as Sales Strategy, Finance, Operations, and Enablement (employee development), this role contributes to achieving CSG’s key goals of driving customer adoption of Salesforce and minimizing churn risk. This role is not simply responsible for reporting. After understanding the Customer Success business model, business processes, KPIs, and stakeholder landscape, you will independently define the business questions that need to be addressed. You will then deliver insights that drive decision-making by collecting and analyzing data and developing data marts and dashboards for analysis. We welcome candidates who are passionate about bringing strategy to life in the business and enjoy collaborating with others. Based on an understanding of the Customer Success business model, KPIs, and stakeholder landscape, you will proactively determine the business questions to address and prioritize analyses. You will analyze data on trends related to customer adoption of Salesforce, product usage (Consumption), and churn risk, and translate your findings into concrete recommendations for improvement. Working as an equal partner with Business Partners, you will promptly deliver the insights needed for discussions with CSG leaders, collaboration with Sales Strategy, and executive decision-making. In addition to continuously improving analytical methods and processes, you will work with relevant teams to establish data governance practices, including validating data quality, organizing data definitions, and managing access, while anticipating the expanding use of data through AI.
- At least five years of professional experience analyzing business challenges and supporting decision-making with data (for example, in corporate or business planning, Sales Planning, or as a data analyst), along with an understanding of the Customer Success or SaaS business model and business processes - Hands-on experience extracting and aggregating data with SQL, as well as practical experience in multiple areas among building executive dashboards with BI tools such as Tableau; analyzing data from CRM systems such as Salesforce and cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake; and conducting quantitative analysis and financial modeling in Excel or Google Sheets - Experience independently determining how to use data based on stakeholder needs, prioritizing multiple requests, and making recommendations to senior leaders based on analytical findings - Business-level Japanese proficiency (able to lead meetings and prepare materials in Japanese; equivalent to or above JLPT N1) and business communication skills in English, including reading materials, participating in meetings, and giving presentations
- Advanced analytical experience, such as statistical modeling or machine learning using Python or R - Tableau-related certification or SnowPro certification - Experience in strategy or analytics at a consulting firm or SaaS company, or experience collaborating with Sales Strategy or a company-wide data analytics team - Practical experience in data governance (such as data quality management and maintaining data definitions and metadata) or data engineering (such as designing and building systems to automatically prepare data for analysis)
- Salesforce benefits and resources help you find balance and do your best work in a way that feels true to you - AI agents amplify your impact at work
