The Orthopedics Business Unit continues its work to meet the diverse needs of the era of 100-year lifespans through medical devices and treatment materials in the orthopedic field. You will work with orthopedic surgeons, handling internal fixation implants used in surgery, including trauma products and joint replacement products, and will be responsible for educating them about the safety and efficacy of these products, as well as providing solution-based sales support for challenges faced by patients. We help patients avoid enduring pain caused by illness or injury and support each individual in returning to the life they envision for themselves. Our business operates across the following four areas. The Sports Division provides implants used in arthroscopic and other procedures, primarily in sports orthopedics involving the shoulder and knee. As the pioneer that first launched suture anchors worldwide for procedures to repair recurrent shoulder dislocations and rotator cuff tears, we have contributed to the development of minimally invasive surgery. Today, our broad product lineup supports a variety of procedures, including ligament repair. Our mission is to help everyone, from athletes to general patients, return to sports and everyday life as soon as possible. Responsibilities include selling internal fixation implants used to treat orthopedic conditions; providing information to promote the safe and appropriate use of our products; working with healthcare professionals to create an environment that enables high-quality surgery; creating value by proposing products that address healthcare professionals’ needs; and maximizing sales of our products while managing assigned territories and hospitals. You will become an expert in the medical devices you sell, build trusted relationships as a partner to physicians who are experts in diseases and treatment, and translate those relationships into sales. You will introduce products to physicians, provide information, coordinate surgeries, attend surgeries, and oversee the appropriate use of products. When attending surgeries, you will guide nurses in assembling instruments and support physicians during procedures, including advising them on the correct use of instruments. Because these are highly complex surgeries, you can hear patients’ joyful accounts of regaining their health. Training focuses on hands-on learning with bone models, covering the many instruments and steps required for implant surgery. You will use comprehensive online modules to acquire knowledge through advance study, then apply that knowledge during group training. By alternating between group training and on-the-job training, you will turn what you learn into practical knowledge that you can use in the field. It is fine to start with no orthopedic knowledge. By the end of training, you will be able to understand, in broad terms, what takes place during surgery. For positions that require driving a vehicle for work, you must hold a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one before joining the company. Please disclose in advance if you may be unable to obtain or renew a license due to certain medical conditions under the Road Traffic Act. The initial work location is nationwide. Your initial assignment will be confirmed after you complete two months of training. Johnson & Johnson has announced plans to separate its Orthopedics business and establish it as an independent company, DePuy Synthes. Subject to the satisfaction of the necessary conditions, the separation is expected to be completed within 18–24 months. Accordingly, after the separation is completed, the person in this position will be employed by DePuy Synthes and will be subject to DePuy Synthes’ employment framework, programs, policies, and benefits. DePuy Synthes is expected to provide further details at the appropriate time. Internal applicants should review the internal job posting guidelines in AskGS before applying. Employees with less than 18 months of service must obtain approval from their manager and their BU HR representative before applying. You may not apply for multiple positions simultaneously. Regardless of length of service, if you pass the document screening and advance to the first interview, inform your manager that you have applied for an internal position and are proceeding with the selection process. When making an employee referral, you will be deemed to have understood the details of the “Employee Referral Program” on ASK GS and to have made the referral in compliance with the program.
