The overall responsibility of our Engineering leaders are to provide a high level of property maintenance, including maintaining the building, grounds and facilities with particular attention toward safety, security and asset protection and is responsible to plan, organize, direct and control the work of the Engineering & Security Team in the Engineering Division, Contractor and Vendors. Activities include providing the technical services, building maintenance systems, and overall administration of operations to provide an exceptional Guest Experience at the highest standard of quality. To develop and implement a comprehensive Preventive maintenance Program for all equipment in the hotel, and facilities. To coordinate and, if so requested, supervise special projects and employment of contractors or vendors. To establish a well-organized Engineering Store and keep close control on consumption of material, stores, and inventory control. To inspect, at least twice monthly, the entire hotel properties with particular attention on defective or deficient life safety features and to observe closely the condition of all operating equipment. Specific attention must be place on not to omit areas of difficult access. To advise each division on all matters of potential improvement to the operation. To be knowledgeable of statutory legislation in employment and industrial relations. To control and monitor closely all utility consumption, and to ensure optimum energy usage in the Hotel. Share monthly information regarding utility costs with the Division Head/Department Head. To assume full charge of building maintenance and Guest room and public area rehabilitation. To establish a regular planned guestroom servicing program. (Perfect Room Program) To supervise maintenance of not only hotel area but also tenant spaces in the hotel. To be responsible for the implementation of all company Life Safety procedures with cooperation from Security. To assume overall responsibility for the correct functional condition of all alarm systems and firefighting equipment’s. To ensure that all employees including those out-sourced are fully familiar with and have complete understanding of the Hotel’s policies relating to Fire, Safety, Hygiene, and Health and that these policies are being strictly adhered to. To be fully in charge and responsible for the smooth function of the Division’s administration and maintenance of an efficient filing system. To make sure that all documents related to the operation of the Division are being kept up to date and that all records are correctly maintained and filed. To assume full responsibility for the preparation and timely submittal of all reports. To maintain a comprehensive library of manuals and parts list of all operational equipment, as well as a complete set of up to date drawings of all areas and systems. Continuously strive for improvement of processes and efficiency. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.
- Three to five years of previous employment in a Director of Engineering position. - Applicants are required to have five years previous management experience in hotel or building engineering maintenance. Managing a complex with multiple business units (hotel, residential, club, and commercial space) is preferred. - We are looking for individuals who have solid project management skills, evidence a strong work/ethic, adaptability and flexibility and leadership skills.
