As the owner of a territory assigned by area, you will develop sales plans and make proposals to new customers, as well as pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities with existing customers, primarily small and medium-sized businesses and venture companies in and around Tokyo. Your primary contacts will be business leaders, such as executives and company officers, allowing you to engage in highly consultative sales activities. Working in coordination with the Marketing, Inside Sales, and Channel Sales teams, as well as partners, you will drive new customer acquisition and deepen relationships with existing customers in your territory. As a Trusted Advisor, you will propose not only solutions to customers’ challenges but also ways to achieve their future goals and desired state. Because you provide services rather than products, you will not need to spend time on product shipping or delivery and can focus on proposals that contribute to customer success. Most of the people you will make proposals to in this department are at the CEO level, enabling you to develop proposal skills directly related to business management. Since you will be presenting to decision-makers, the period from the start of a sales opportunity to contract signing is short, giving you many opportunities to gain closing experience. Potential future career paths include advancement to Mid Market or General Business.
- At least 3 years of corporate sales experience, regardless of whether the offering is tangible or intangible, or IT or non-IT. - Sales experience with individual sales targets, including establishing and implementing methods for identifying opportunities, prioritizing them, and managing the sales process to achieve targets. - Experience in new customer acquisition, with a customer-first mindset, a strong commitment to meeting targets, and the ability to take an active approach. - A desire for self-development, the flexibility to enjoy change, and an openness to adopting new approaches rather than clinging to conventional methods.
- Experience making consultative proposals focused on solving customer challenges. - Knowledge of enterprise applications centered on BPM, such as CRM, ERP, BI, SCM, and PLM. - Active use of new technologies and platforms, such as smartphones, tablets, business applications, and social media.
